Company Background
GURU NETworks Inc. originated from a technology company, Open Systems Associates Inc., founded by in 1993. Open Systems developed an object model for architecting business software solutions for the Real Estate Industry. This product was called by the code name GURU because, with the single consolidated database, it appeared to have "all the answers".

In 1998, under the leadership of Paul Hill, Open Systems began implementation of the GURU Broker Network, an enterprise product for the real estate industry in a 40 office brokerage in New England. This installation included the first use of the RETS standard to "pull" all the listings of an MLS into a broker system.

In August 2000, NM Management Inc., a real estate, title and mortgage holding company, chose Open Systems to provide its enterprise solution, including interfaces to its mortgage and title companies. In May of 2001, Open Systems and NM Management Inc. formed a joint venture combining domain expertise of Real Estate and Technology. Under the leadership of Ike Broaddus, the newly formed company, GURU NETworks Inc. (GURUnet), further developed and marketed the second generation of the GURU Broker Network.

In May 2001, GURUnet acquired the assets of west coast Synteleos, developer of the Transaction Management NetworkTM (TMN). This expanded GURUnet's client base nationwide, and enabled the marketing of transaction management solutions to smaller brokerage firms. TMN also provided an entry-level product for customers who were interested in upgrading to an enterprise system in the future. GURUnet expanded the reach of the TMN product by offering it for private labeling under reseller agreements. Under the private label of HomeTrackTM, the Orlando Regional Realtors® Association (ORRA) became the first reseller of the TMN product.

In September 2001, Ike Broaddus acquired NM Management's interest in GURU NETworks Inc. and began expanding the GURUnet development team. This team afforded increased productivity and quality control and enabled GURUnet to begin work on a new, more flexible technology platform with a proprietary access control mechanism. This Generation 3 technology was designed to allow GURUnet to offer the comprehensive functions of the generation 2 GURU Broker Management Solution in more easily implemented, configurable modules.

In August 2002, GURUnet released the first product on its new Generation 3 technology platform, g3DirectTM. Replacing the Synteleos TMNTM product, g3DirectTM provides GURUnet customers with a robust, reliable transaction management tool with the added flexibility of expansion to a broker enterprise solution. g3DirectTM is marketed both directly and through resellers and distributors across the country. g3EnterpriseTM systems, built from modules on the g3 technology platform, provide an upward growth path, replacing the GURU Broker Management Solution with a more modular and easily implemented product based on the g3DirectTM core functions.
